Good reasons not to live in Britain: first, the weather reporter (on Sky, tonight) commented that temperatures were set "to double" overnight – lucky Londoners, maybe going from 4 degrees to 8 degrees (or was it from 2 to 4?)! Second, they have this vil! e reality programme which they insist on playing out on an ann! ual (or is it bi-annual) basis, called I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here (aka IACGMOOH). Last month, Martina Navratilova, the dude who played Sulu in the original Star Trek, and a couple of other girls with suspiciously fake tans and large cleavages, battled it out in the "jungle" somewhere near the Australian city of Brisbane. I can't tell you who won.
Anyhow, this is a rambling aside or introduction to the real topic at hand: one of the cleavage girls is C-list WAG Nicola McLean, who is engaged to an English footballer (no, don't know which one). She's also a former page-3 girl, risque model, you get the general idea.
What I find fascinating is that, as Ms McLean's nascent star glimmers over the land of Monty Python and Wayne Rooney, her modelling skills have once more been in demand, and she's obliging – despite having some serious stretchmarks on her lower tummy (these courtesy of her two-year-old son). On the one hand I think it's awesome that she's not a! shamed of her baby-carrying marks. On the other hand, it's such a shock to the visual cortex – so different from the plastic, sculpted, cellulite- and wrinkle-free bodies we're exposed to… I think her chest is more obscene than her stretchmarks.
